Alcam Creamery Company Inc.
Alcam Traditions -- In 1946, Alcam Creamery was brought to life by Cameron Peckham in the beautiful hills of Southwestern Wisconsin, known to early settlers as the Ocooch Mountains. Today, Alcam continues to make butter in the family tradition and is owned by Cam’s son Gary. In the early days cream was procured within a 50 mile radius of the plant from small cheese plants and delivered in cans to the butter plant. Now we procure cream from sources throughout the nation but continue to purchase from small producers.
In 2012 we expanded our operation to include a second plant in a neighboring rural community: Hillsboro, WI. Today, we are known as Dairy Wisconsin, home of Alcam Creamery and Hillsboro Riverview Dairy.
The special flavor in our butter comes from the history of blending cream from a variety of sources. Over the years our mix of product has grown from bulk boxes of salted butter to a wide assortment of sizes and shapes for retail, food service, ingredient and the Alcam specialty, hand roll butter. Butter is our tradition; it’s what we do and we do it well.
