Gouda and Monterey Jack Bacon Melt

Wisconsin Cheese Gouda and Monterey Jack Bacon Melt Recipe

Look for the Proudly Wisconsin Badge when shopping for cheese. Any brand of Wisconsin Gouda or Monterey Jack can be used in this recipe.


  1. Fry bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon to paper towels to drain. 
  2. Spread bread slices with honey mustard. Top four slices with monterey jack, 6 apple slices, bacon and gouda. Top with remaining bread slices honey mustard side down. Spread the outsides of sandwiches with butter.
  3. Toast sandwiches, covered, on a warm griddle over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until the side is golden brown. Flip sandwiches; cook, uncovered, 2-4 minutes longer or until bread is lightly golden brown and cheeses are melted.
