Feta and Dukkah Spice Cheese Ball

This cheese ball features fresh, salty feta cheese rolled up in dukkah, a spice mix containing sesame seeds and spices, that's often sprinkled on pita.

Look for the Proudly Wisconsin Badge when shopping for cheese. Any brand of Wisconsin Cream Cheese or Feta can be used in this recipe.

Instructions

Dukkah Spice Mix:

  1. Toast hazelnuts in a skillet over medium-low heat until fragrant, stirring frequently. Remove from the pan to cool. Coarsely chop hazelnuts. Set aside. 
  2. Toast the coriander seeds, sesame seeds, peppercorns and cumin seeds in the same skillet over medium-low heat until fragrant, stirring frequently. Remove from the pan to cool.
  3. Place the hazelnuts, seeds mixture and salt into a food processor; cover and process until fine crumbs. Set aside.

Feta Cheese Ball:

  1. Beat the cream cheese, feta and honey in a large bowl until smooth.
  2. Transfer to plastic wrap; shape with wrap into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for least 1 hour or until firm.
  3. Roll cheese ball in spice mixture. Serve with pita chips and vegetables.
