Treat yourself to this hearty salad with plenty of textures and flavors. It's pretty to put together with wholesome ingredients starting with everyone’s favorite — Wisconsin cheese.
- Arrange salad greens, cheese curds, wild rice, apple, walnuts, red onion and dried cherries in medium bowl.
- Whisk olive oil, red wine vinegar, stone ground mustard and honey in small bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle over salad.
Any brand of Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds can be used.
Curds make a great addition to any menu item or party! They squeak when fresh from the cheese plant but will lose their toothsome squeak after a few days. Freeze to keep cheese curds fresh; then microwave a few seconds to make them “squeak again”.
