Bacon Sriracha Football Cheese Ball

Look for the Proudly Wisconsin Badge when shopping for cheese. Any brand of Wisconsin Cream Cheese, Gouda or Mozzarella can be used in this recipe.

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. Place a greased wire rack on an aluminum foil-lined rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Arrange bacon strips in a single layer on rack; rub with brown sugar. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Cool completely. Crumble bacon; cover and refrigerate.
  4. Meanwhile, beat the gouda, cream cheese, butter, green onion, soy sauce, garlic powder, pepper and Sriracha hot chili sauce to taste in a large bowl until mixture is combined.
  5. Transfer to plastic wrap; shape with wrap into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Shape cheese ball into a football. Rewrap; refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Press bacon onto football just before serving. Place mozzarella on football for laces. Serve with vegetables and pretzels.
