Renard's Cheese was started in 1961 and for the past 57 years has been an icon in Door County business. Renard's is a family-owned and operated business that is now in its third generation of cheesemakers. Today, Chris Renard, Master Cheesemaker, and his wife, Ann Renard, own both Renard's Cheese stores and the Rosewood Dairy factory where all the cheese is produced. The Renard family is committed to continuing the tradition of hand-crafted specialty cheese while producing quality, gourmet cheese that is perfectly blended. Chris earned his Master Cheesemaker Certification in 2014 – a nationally acclaimed title. While many things have changed over the years, the Renard's recipe remains the same. This precise art has awarded the Renard's not only a reputation of great standards but also a product that they are proud to put their name on.

Our facility is located in Door County, Wisconsin. Founded by Master Cheesemaker Mike Brennenstuhl, in 2017, Door Artisan Cheese makes both traditional Wisconsin cheeses and original-recipe creations. Our small artisan cheese plant has the ability to make many types of cheese. The cheese is then aged and cared for in our cheese caves located in the lower level of our production facility. Door Artisan Cheese partners exclusively for milk with Red Barn Family Farms in Appleton, Wis., a co-op group of small family dairy farms that are certified by the American Humane Association. Our mindset of “great milk makes great cheese” is the reason we use this quality resource in the production cheese. Our pride and dedication to quality cheesemaking has earned us 5 medals at the World and US Cheese Contests in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Two at the 2021 World Dairy Expo competition and two at the 2021 International Cheese and Dairy Awards. We serve retail, foodservice and private label customers.

In Wisconsin, we make more flavors, varieties, and styles of cheese than anywhere else in the world. We believe in tradition, producing everything from Italian classics, like parmesan and ricotta, to swiss cheese and cheddar varieties. But every Wisconsin cheesemaker is an innovator as well, which is why we have so many Wisconsin originals, like colby and muenster. Whether it’s a grilled cheese sandwich, potatoes au gratin, or a charcuterie board, Wisconsin cheese makes every dish and recipe tastier.
