Henning Cheese is a family operation crafting traditional artisan and specialty cheese in rural Kiel, Wisconsin, since 1914. Our focus is on quality not quantity. We use fresh milk from small local family dairy farmers and follow slow traditional make procedures. We craft traditional Cheddar, Colby, Monterey Jack, Farmers, Mozza Whips, fresh Cheddar Cheese Curds and a wide variety of unique Cheddar flavors. Some of these include Mango Fire Cheddar, Blueberry Cobbler Cheddar, Peppercorn Cheddar, Pico de Queso Cheddar & Dragon’s Breath Cheddar. We also have a line of seasonal flavors which includes our very popular, Hatch Chile Cheddar. Under the watchful eye of Master Cheesemaker Kerry Henning and 4th generation family cheesemakers, Joshua Henning & Zachary Henning, our cheeses have won countless awards over the years. Our plant is Level 3 SQF certified and USDA approved. Cheese is available to purchase in retail cuts, 40 lb. blocks and wheels that range from 12-pound midgets to 4000-pound mammoths.
