Official Rules

Wisconsin Cheese Dream Contest and Sweepstakes is sponsored by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Inc., doing business as the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, 8418 Excelsior Drive, Madison, WI 53717 (the “Sponsor”), subject to the following rules, terms, and conditions:

• NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN; A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
• VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
• AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & PRIZE ACCEPTANCE AGREEMENT MAY BE REQUIRED.
• THIS CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES ARE IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED, OR ADMINISTERED BY, OR ASSOCIATED WITH, FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, OR ANY OTHER MEDIA PLATFORM ON WHICH THIS CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES IS ADVERTISED. BY ENTERING, YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE PROVIDING YOUR INFORMATION SOLELY TO THE SPONSOR.
• BY ENTERING (OR OTHERWISE PARTICIPATING) IN THE CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES, YOU AGREE TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES, WHICH CREATE A CONTRACT SO READ THEM CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING. WITHOUT LIMITATION, SUCH CONTRACT INCLUDES GRANTS OF RIGHTS AND INDEMNITIES TO SPONSOR FROM YOU, A CLASS ACTION WAIVER, AND A LIMITATION OF YOUR RIGHTS AND REMEDIES. WINNERS WHO ACCEPT PRIZES ARE DEEMED TO HAVE AGREED TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

 
ELIGIBILITY:To enter the Contest and Sweepstakes, you must be a legal U.S. resident who physically resides in the U.S. and is 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of the Sponsor or the Sponsor’s affiliates, sales representatives, agencies, dealers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and promotional and other vendor agencies involved in the Contest and Sweepstakes, their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, service agencies, independent contractors, (collectively, “Affiliated Parties”), and the immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild, regardless of where they reside) and household members of all such employees, are NOT eligible to win. Contest and Sweepstakes are subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

HOW TO ENTER: There are two categories in which you may enter the Contest and Sweepstakes: (1) How can Wisconsin Cheese plus up your happiest moment of 2024? and (2) What is a Wisconsin Cheese experience you have always wanted to have but never thought it would be possible? You may submit one (1) entry in one or both of the above categories. To enter you must submit to www.wisconsincheese.com/dreams the following information: (1) your first and last name; (2) your email address; (3) your mailing address; and (4) a description, ranging in length from two hundred fifty (250) to one thousand (1000) characters AND a video of between fifteen (15) and forty-five (45) seconds answering either or both of the above categories. You may also enter by posting a video on Instagram, tagging @WisconsinCheese and including the hashtag #WisconsinCheeseDream. If entering both categories, you must submit two separate entries. Entries that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, corrupted, mechanically reproduced, falsified, mutilated, damaged, altered or otherwise irregular, misdirected entries, deemed to contain obscene or offensive language, or entries not received for any other reason will be void and disqualified at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Please contact the Sponsor at dream@wisconsincheese.com if you require an alternate method to enter the Contest and Sweepstakes.

TIMING AND DURATION OF CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES: The Contest and Sweepstakes will run from January 20, 2024, until February 14, 2024, at 11:59 PM CST (the “Contest and Sweepstakes Period”), with winners announced on March 13, 2024, and Grand Prize winners’ prizes shall be determined or completed by or on June 4, 2024, or on such other date mutually agreeable to Sponsor and the Grand Prize Winner.

PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE ("ARV"): The specific prizes and the approximate retail value for the prizes for the Contest and Sweepstakes are as follows:
 

 
PLEASE NOTE: All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

* The ARV for the Grand Prize will vary depending on travel arrangements for the Grand Prize Winners, determined in the Sponsor’s sole discretion. As set forth in more detail below, neither of the Grand Prize Winners shall have any right to receive substitution or the cash equivalent for any described travel, lodging, meals, experiences, or other incidental expenses except those that the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may provide.

Where not prohibited, an affidavit of eligibility (including SSN), prize acceptance form, tax information, publicity release, and/or mutually acceptable liability releases may be required from the entrants selected as a winner. Prizes are not transferable, and no substitution or cash equivalent is allowed, except in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of the same approximate retail value if advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason. If the value of the prize exceeds $600, the winner’s social security number or taxpayer I.D. will be required in order to issue a Form 1099-MISC showing prize ARV as income to winner. Prizes consist only of items specifically listed as part of the prize. All costs and expenses not specified herein relating to the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

RANDOM DRAW & ODDS OF WINNING: Sponsor will use an online digital software platform, such as Random.org (www.random.org), to conduct a randomized draw from the pool of eligible Sweepstakes entries that have been submitted via a valid entry, excluding any entries who have already been selected as a winner for the Sweepstakes during the Contest and Sweepstakes Period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the stated Contest and Sweepstakes Period.

SELECTION OF GRAND PRIZE WINNERS: Starting on February 15, 2024, the entries will be judged by a panel of Sponsor representatives (“Judges”) based on the following criteria:

• Quality/Presentation – 50%. Is the dream submission positive, easy to read, and/or clearly present? If a video submission, is the video of good quality (e.g. good lighting, not pixelated, good sound quality)?
• Appropriateness to the Public Image of Sponsor – 50%. Does the submission meet the Sponsor’s brand promise and values? Does the submission convey an optimistic and uplifting tone? Please see www.WisconsinCheese.com/dreams for inspiration.

The Entry that receives the highest scores from the Judges in each respective category will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winner for that category, subject to verification. In the event of a ties, tied Entries shall be re-judged by the Judges based 50% on Originality/Creativity and 50% on Appropriateness to the Public Image of the Sponsor. Sponsor and Judges’ decisions are final with respect to all matters relating to the judging. By participating, entrants agree to the decisions of the Judges and Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. No information regarding entries, random drawing for non-Grand Prize winners, or judging shall be disclosed to any third party not involved in the conduct of the Contest and Sweepstakes.

WINNER CONFIRMATION: Sponsor will notify entrants selected as winners by sending a notification email, between February 15, 2024 and June 4, 2024, to the email address of the winning entry provided by the entrant. Each notification email will contain the shipping address provided on the entry form. Winner must respond to such notification email in the manner designated by Sponsor in the notification email with any changes or alterations to the shipping address within five (5) days of the date the notification email was delivered. Unless such request to alter the shipping address is received, Sponsor will mail the prize(s) via UPS shipping to the address provided in the notification email. Sponsor will treat failure to receive a response to a notification email as consent to receive the prize and confirmation of the address provided.

If requested by Sponsor in the notification email, the selected entry may also be required to execute and return within the specified time period an Affidavit of Eligibility, Publicity Release, and Release of Liability (collectively, “Winner’s Documents”), that includes, without limitation, acceptance of the prize, tax information, assignment of rights, and/or mutually acceptable liability releases, as requested by Sponsor, except where prohibited by law in order to be confirmed a winner.

INVALID ADDRESS OR FAILURE TO RESPOND. If the selected entry cannot be confirmed a winner for any reason, or if the Winner’s Documents are not fully completed within the specified time or are returned as undeliverable, the selected entry submission may be disqualified, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen, at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Sponsor may, but is not required to, contact the entrant to request verification or correction of the email address for the selected entry submission if Sponsor receives communication such address is incorrect, or any email message is undeliverable. Any failure to respond to additional requests or confirmation of information in the time period stated by Sponsor shall result in disqualification of entry, forfeit of the prize, and selection of an alternate winner.

GRAND PRIZE WINNER CONFIRMATION: To be confirmed a Grand Prize Winner, the selected winners must: (1) respond via email as specified in the notification email within five (5) days of the receipt of the notification email; (2) provide or verify any information required for the planning and coordination of any travel; and (3) Grand Prize Winners must execute and return within the time periods specified by Sponsor the Winner’s Documents, that include, without limitation, acceptance of the prize, tax information, assignment of rights, and/or mutually acceptable liability releases, as requested by Sponsor, except where prohibited by law. If the selected winner cannot be confirmed the Grand Prize Winner for any reason, declines to accept the Grand Prize, or if the Winner’s Documents are not fully completed within the specified time or are returned as undeliverable, the selected winner may be disqualified and the Grant Prize will be forfeited and an alternate Grand Prize Winner will be chosen, at the discretion of the Sponsor.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM SPONSOR: By entering this Contest and Sweepstakes or accepting a prize, entrants consent to receive communications via email from Sponsor and Sponsor’s Affiliated Parties during the Contest and Sweepstakes Period. Upon entry to this Contest and Sweepstakes or notification of selection, you may elect to either “opt-in” to receive future promotional emails from Sponsor and Sponsor’s Affiliated Parties, or elect not to receive such emails, by marking or selecting the appropriate box or by notifying Sponsor by emailing Sponsor at hello@wisconsindairy.org. If you do not elect to “opt-in,” Sponsor agrees to cease email communications with you after termination of the Contest and Sweepstakes Period, and Sponsor further agrees to discard the email address provided by that entrant within thirty (30) days after termination of the Contest and Sweepstakes Period. Your decision whether to “opt-in” will not affect your chances of winning in any way.

PUBLICITY AUTHORIZATION AND RELEASE: Except where prohibited, by entering into this Contest and Sweepstakes or acceptance of selection as a winner, entrant or winner consents that his or her name, likeness, voice, biographical data, and/or social media posts relating to the Contest and Sweepstakes, including but not limited to photos shared by entrant or winner, text authored by entrant or winner, and the name of the profile associated with the entrant or winner’s social media account, may be used for advertising and promotional purposes by the Sponsor without limitation and without additional notice, compensation, or consent.

AGREEMENT TO ABIDE BY OFFICIAL RULES: By entering this Contest and Sweepstakes, or acceptance of selection as a winner, entrant and winner each agrees that s/he has read, accepted, and will abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and agrees that any dispute with regard to the conduct of this Contest and Sweepstakes, rule interpretation, or the awarding of the prize shall be submitted to Sponsor, whose decision shall be binding and final.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: By entering this Contest and Sweepstakes, or accepting selection as a winner, entrant or winner agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, sales representatives, agencies, wholesalers, distributors and promotional and other vendor agencies involved in the Contest and Sweepstakes, their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, service agencies, independent contractors, and the officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of any of the above organizations (“Releasees”) from any injury, loss or damage to person, including death, or property due in-whole or in-part, directly or indirectly, to the acceptance or use/misuse of the prize, participation in any Contest and Sweepstakes-related activity, or participation in the Contest and Sweepstakes.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Releasees are not responsible for and each entrant or winner releases and holds harmless the Releasees from and against any and all losses, damages, actions, demands, liabilities or claims of whatever nature or kind arising out of, or in connection with a prize or any portion thereof or this Contest and Sweepstakes. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Releasees will not be responsible for any typographical or other error in the printed or other related material related of this Contest and Sweepstakes, the administration of the Contest and Sweepstakes, the selection of winners, including the Grand Prize winners, in the announcement of the prize, including erroneous appearance of qualification for the prize, any entries disqualified for any of the reasons stated in these Official Rules, or any loss, damage or claims caused by, or in any way related to the prize or the Contest and Sweepstakes itself.

WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND/OR CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGE FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND TO BAN OR DISQUALIFY SUCH PERSON FROM THIS AND FUTURE CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES.

DISPUTES REGARDING THE IDENTITY OF ENTRANTS: Entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email account submitted at the time of entry. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the entrant, the entrant may be required to provide proof that s/he is the authorized holder of the identified email account. Sponsor shall have the right to settle any such disputes in any manner they deem reasonable.

CHANGES TO CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES, OFFICIAL RULES, ETC.: Under no circumstances will Sponsor be required to award more than the stated number of prizes. Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to modify, cancel, or suspend this Contest and Sweepstakes, or to amend the Official Rules at any time, without prior individual notice, should any factor interfere with the administration, security, or proper play of this Contest and Sweepstakes as contemplated by these Official Rules. If for any reason Sponsor is prevented from continuing with this Contest and Sweepstakes, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the Contest and Sweepstakes is undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state, provincial/territorial or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, Sponsor shall have the right, but not the obligation, in their sole and absolute discretion, to award the prize from among all entries received to date.

DISPUTES/CHOICE OF LAW: EACH ENTRANT AGREES THAT (1) ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS, AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES, OR ANY PRIZE AWARDED, SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION, AND ANY JUDICIAL PROCEEDING SHALL TAKE PLACE IN A FEDERAL OR STATE COURT LOCATED IN DANE COUNTY, WISCONSIN; (2) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS, AND AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, INCLUDING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING THIS CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES, BUT IN NO EVENT ATTORNEYS’ FEES; AND (3) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN AWARDS FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, AND ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED. ALL ISSUES AND QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES, OR THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF ENTRANTS AND THE SPONSOR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST AND SWEEPSTAKES SHALL BE GOVERNED BY, AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WISCONSIN, WITHOUT GIVING EFFECT TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW OR CONFLICT OF LAW RULES OR PROVISIONS OF ANY OTHER JURISDICTION THAT WOULD CAUSE THE APPLICATION OF THE LAWS OF ANY JURISDICTION OTHER THAN THOSE OF THE STATE OF WISCONSIN.

RULES GOVERN: The Contest and Sweepstakes will be run in accordance with these Official Rules, which shall prevail, govern and control in the event of any inconsistency with any Contest and Sweepstakes-related materials. These Official Rules are subject to change from time to time at Sponsor’s discretion, and only the currently posted Official Rules will apply.
